Inspired by a room in a building, filled with unused wood, pipes and tiles. These objects indicated that they’re in a place where they have completed their objective and are now living in a world/city of after use.

Post-Purpose is a visualised city using these objects to represent this place but at the same time question what this means for the objects as they’re being used again. Have they regained a purpose or are they trying to figure out a new one in their post-purpose world?

I found this realm between the city of purpose and the city of post purpose to be similar to us during the start of the pandemic. Where a lot of us were having to find new purpose as we were inside our homes and unable to carryout our daily purpose.

Post-Purpose was part of an online exhibition called ‘Invisible Cities’ by the collective ‘123456’.

It featured pieces from 6 different artists around a theme of metaphorical cities.

Curated by myself using the instagram platform as a response to the Covid-19 pandemic and our vast separation across cities.
